How to Become an Egg Donor
Become an Egg Donor with ELITE IVF
Becoming an egg donor may seem overwhelming, but the caring and experienced team at ELITE IVF is here to guide you through the process.
We provide full support, helping to make your experience as fulfilling and rewarding as it should be.
The first step is to complete our simple online form located here. Once approved, you will be introduced to an ELITE IVF egg donor coordinator and complete a more comprehensive application to help us match you to the perfect intended parents.
Once you complete the application process, ELITE IVF will contact you to set up a phone consultation. Your egg donor coordinator will tell you more about our program and answer any questions. We will then schedule a complimentary medical check-up close to your home.
In step three, we guide you on administering a medication which will allow your ovaries to release a dozen eggs instead of one, for a single menstrual cycle. This the “ovarian stimulation” phase. You will be closely monitored by our medical team to ensure that your body is responding well.
Once the ultrasound imaging shows that your eggs have sufficiently developed, we will induce ovulation with a one-time injection of the hormone hCG – a hormone which naturally occurs during every monthly cycle. This can be done at the fertility clinic with the help of a nurse. Two days later, your eggs will be retrieved during a short in-office procedure called egg retrieval. You will be encouraged to rest for the remainder of the day.
In the final step, our medical team will conduct a post-egg retrieval check-up to ensure that you are recovering well. Donors typically return to normal activity 1-2 days after the egg retrieval. Our team will closely monitor your progress until you are fully recovered.
